By gendering their products, Hot Octopuss is essentially telling those people their products are not meant for them. It's a shame because they do make really great stuff.
On to the review:
Hot Octopuss were kind enough to send the Atom Plus vibrating cockring for us to try. It's an intriguing design that stretches around the balls and base of cock to send vibration via two powerful motors through the penis and perineum. It's made of lovely silky smooth silicone with chrome plastic covers on the controls. It is also waterproof since the charging pin slips through a tiny hole in the silicone. The usb charger has the Atom Plus at full charge in two hours.
The Atom Plus is easy to use with a press and hold power button for on/off and 5 vibration settings accessible through + and - buttons on the other end of the product. I appreciate the separation since it means no accidental switching off in the middle of things. The power button is tapped to access the 5 vibration patterns. Since the motors are powerful, it's not a quiet toy. We're a Doxy and Magic Wand household so sound isn't an issue for us, but I know some people in shared accommodations are concerned about how quiet their toys are.
We weren't able to use the Atom Plus to its full potential since Flick's balls move around a lot when he's aroused. He'd been traumatized by a previous painful cockring experience and he wasn't willing to risk his nutsack by stretching the Atom Plus around both his penis and balls. He did try putting only his balls through to experience the perineal vibration but even that wasn't comfortable for him. It was definitely a case not of poor design but of not everything being right for every body. I think the Hot Octopuss Atom would have been a better product for his body since wraps around the penis alone.
We used the Atom Plus while he was masturbating with me holding it in place at the base of his penis since the opening is too wide to "set it and forget it" when not stretched to its full size. The dual motor felt great to him since it did cover such a wide area and he found that they were an excellent medium ground between buzz (can be irritating) and rumble (can be desensitizing). The lowest setting was still a little too intense for him and he would have liked a step down, especially when warming up.
Unlike me with pretty much every vibe I've ever tried, Flick enjoyed the vibration patterns and the variety they gave. He also liked that there was such distinct contrast between the patterns.
He didn't try it during partnered sex since fit wasn't right and it would have been too distracting but it was a fun and interesting addition to masturbation. I, being me, tried it with my packing dildo, which felt nice buzzing against my pubic bone, and on my Fuze Tango internal strap-on dildo, though the buzz didn't conduct enough down the silicone shaft to give me much stim.
Overall we think the Atom Plus is an excellent vibrator for those who like their balls tight against their peen while they're getting their sexy on. It's well made, has many options, and two powerful motors for a small toy.
