I am a squirter. Anyone who has read previous reviews or my book Yelling In Pasties: The Wet Coast Confessions of an Anxious Slut knows all about this. The 'wet' in wet coast refers mostly to the fact that sexy times with me will be very wet. It also rains a lot in Vancouver, but that's the less sexy piece of the double entendre.
I was really excited to hear of the No More Wet Spot blanket since I've spent a small fortune on Liberator Throws (formerly Throes, and I'm not sure when they changed it) when I discovered my squirting abilities a mere 4 years ago. They've definitely saved my beds a lot of water damage but there were always drawbacks and I feel like the No More Wet Spot waterproof blanket solves many of them.
You don't need to be a squirter to appreciate a good waterproof blanket for sexytimes, since there are often puddles of lube or other fluids that it's lovely to contain and have a clean surface to sleep on after. Even during solo sex I like to be able to wipe extra lube off my hands or chuck a toy away from me as I recover from orgasm without finding unexpected damp spots when I go to bed.
The first thing I love about the No More Wet Spot blanket is that it's so light. The layers of fleece are soft and light and it packs down into a very portable size, which is important for someone like me who has to travel with their own waterproofing supplies. I was thrilled to have a much less bulky and heavy option than I'd had previously when I took my recent writing retreat. It's so much nicer and sexier than the granny pads I'd often take when I went away.
The second big bonus is that it's fleece on both sides so it doesn't slide around. It has been incredible to experience sexing it up on a waterproof blanket that doesn't slide everywhere and cause one to have to reposition every couple of thrusts. I've generally tucked Liberator Throws under the top sheet to hold them in place which means for an extra element of laundry after a date; no sheet was required with the No More Wet Spot blanket.
The third great thing is that being lighter fleece, it dries more quickly than the other blankets I've had. You can tumble dry on low after washing but sometimes when I'm away, I don't have access to immediate laundry. Hanging it up after play to dry, knowing it would get used again the next day, it dried overnight in the way a heavier Throw would not.
There's always got to be drawbacks with anything and I'd say the main drawback is the way the fleece grabs onto lint in the washer. It also doesn't stay as pristine as the heavier duty velvish Liberator fabric. I visited friends whose No More Wet Spot blanket had seen some serious use and you could tell by significant pilling. That said, having an item I use so much that it gets to that stage, I feel like it's still a very good value.
And in case you want your sex blanket to really work for its space in your cupboard, the extra uses listed on the box cracked me up:
Night Sweats
Camping
Picknicking
Bed Wetting
Sleepovers
Incontinence
Wet or Old Animals
And so much more!
The No More Wet Spot waterproof blankets come in 3 colours - red/black, beige/black, and purple/turquoise - and 3 sizes - mini, regular, and jumbo. I got the 'passionate purple' and 'sassy turquoise' in regular size and it was comparable to the Throws I have. I really liked the unusual colour combo since although purple is an incredibly common colour in sexy stuff, one doesn't see a lot of turquoise. I figured they'd wear better than the black as well, but that's yet to be seen.
