Rainbow Dildo Goodness
I have to confess that my initial favourite thing about the NS Novelties Colours Wave - Pride Edition is that colours is spelled with a 'u' and I'm not having to correct my Canadian auto-spelling each time I write it. Huzzah! It's a small victory after years of coding HTML and having to remember to spell colour as color and centre as center. It's the small things.
Okay, onto the sex toy review! I've owned another of NS Novelties Colours Pride dildos, the enormous 8" penis-realistic with balls and veins, for many years and always enjoyed the look of it even though it was too long for me to use comfortably myself. I've gotten to use the 8" Colours Pride as a strap on with a few sexyfriends who really enjoyed it and it has always been an awesome showpiece at play parties. The Pride edition Colours Wave has the same great rainbow stripes with a 6" insertable length and 1-1.5" diameter. This more modest size appealed as I am not listed amongst the Size Royalty in the official register.
The wave shape is very appealing to those with responsive g-spots or those with prostates who enjoy bumpy toys and the suction cup has a deep bowl which gives it great hold should you want to play with it suctioned to a surface. I'm a big fan of joining 2 suction bases to use one as a handle and it worked well with the Colours Wave. The decently wide flared base means it's a great strap-on option and won't fall out of most O-rings. The platinum silicone is a pleasure to touch and it has a medium density with decent squish but not much floppiness.
I realized as I was putting off giving the Colours Wave a thorough round of testing that I tend not to do penetration during solo sex even though I love it when playing with a partner. This issue has been amplified during the stress-level of the COVID-19 pandemic where my libido is at zero so having a quick wank on a wand every now and then is about all I've been up for. I find myself reluctant to get lube on my hands and having to deal with clean up so although the toy really appealed aesthetically, I just couldn't bring myself to put in the work, ahem, putting it in.
Since it has been possibly 6 months since I've had any penetrative sex I was thankful for the Colours Wave's slim girth and as I experimented with it I kind of wanted to put on some underwear and just wander around with that pleasurable filled sensation. When I did do some thrusting I found the size a little small to really give a ton of sensation so went back to shallow thrusts with it buried deep.
When the Colours Wave did its best work for me was when I put my Doxy Die Cast against the base and used it to vibrate all of the super deep clitoral tissue until I had a few fantastic orgasms. It was worth the effort of lube-hands and clean up but I probably wouldn't rush to use it again as a solo toy.
In conclusion I think the Colours Wave is a great option for those who like a smaller-sized dildo that isn't especially penis-y (unlike the other Colours line dildos). It could also make an excellent anal dildo since it's got good length without having a lot of intimidating girth (unless you're into that).
