No one could possibly claim that the Iroha by Tenga Rin vibrator is not beautiful. It has the artistic styling of something you'd keep on your mantel; its architectural lines reminiscent of the stunning art deco buildings we toured on a trip to Chicago a few years ago. It is definitely one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever put inside me.
The Rin is made of the silkiest silicone fully covering an incredibly firm (feels like abs plastic) body topped with a squishy marshmallow head that would make an incredible anxiety toy. I found myself constantly wanting to touch and squeeze it. It comes in 2 styles: the Akane, a cream-coloured body with a raspberry base, and the Kogane, a white body with a mustard base.
The Iroha Rin vibe is beautiful. The Iroha Rin vibe is elegant. The Iroha Rin vibe is... not powerful
My first clue that I was about to test something in the mild-vibration category was that the Iroha Rin vibrator runs on 2 AAA batteries. There is a pair included in the box but you’re quickly going to need to replace them with a decent set. The 4 vibration settings (3 constant & 1 pulsing) don't ever get beyond a very mild buzz and the spongy tip muffles that sensation even more. It is very quiet, though, if that is a concern.
The squishiness of the tip did allow me to press the Iroha Rin directly against my clitoral head, which is too sensitive to tolerate most vibrators, and if there had been just a bit more power there’s a chance that it could have gotten me off. And there’s really no reason why it couldn’t be more powerful, especially if they’d made it with a rechargeable battery. There are plenty of powerful, rechargeable vibrators out there in a similar size for just a little more of an investment (looking at you WeVibe Tango, Blush Nocturnal, Hot Octopuss Digit) so while I get that Tenga was doing something different with the Iroha Rin, it could have served more people by starting out as gently as it does and building to something a whole lot more.
The vibrations from the Iroha Rin travelled surprisingly well through that pillowy tip and by pressing it super hard against my lower labia, in a way that I definitely cannot do with the harder bullet vibes, I could generate a very pleasant, if not orgasmic sensation.
The Iroha Rin’s description mentions it as an insertable, and good for those beginning to explore with insertable vibrators, and while there is no real reason not to, it’s not exactly shaped like something you’d think to put inside yourself. The puffy tip and hard body aren't the usual shapes one associates with insertion and required more lube than something with a sleeker profile would have. And much like with the external sensations, the vibrations from the Iroha Rin felt pleasant but it was not enough for me.
